What is the MCBAPA?
The Montgomery County Beekeepers’ Association of Pennsylvania (MCBAPA), is an organization of hobbyist and professional beekeepers that serves Montgomery, Bucks and surrounding counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The mission of the association is to provide education, support, hands-on training and fellowship in all aspects of the beekeeping experience. We welcome experienced as well as novice beekeepers to participate in our monthly meetings, social events and field trips.

Here are our 2024 recipients:
- College Settlement Camp
College Settlement is a non-profit camp for 1,000 summer campers as well as 5,000 day campers in school groups. They have used their grant to expand the bee education further.
• Sanctuary Farm Philadelphia
Sanctuary Farm seeks to address the health inequities resulting from systemic racial oppression and economic injustice by converting abandoned and neglected areas in their community into spaces that promote safety, hospitality, nutrition, and growth. They are using the grant to expand their beekeeping operation with the purchase of a honey extractor.
- Green Allies
Green Allies mission is to empower and support students as they become environmental sustainability leaders. They envision a world where students lead the way to a more livable future by providing student leadership opportunities through service programs. They have used the grant to expand their bee education program by purchasing bee jackets and other beekeeping equipment.

Register Your Hives!
Pennsylvania requires that every beekeeper in the Commonwealth be registered. The registration costs $10.00 for a two calendar-year period and covers all apiaries and hives owned by that person. Hive Inspections
Anyone selling bees needs to be inspected every year by the state.
